Director of Golf
Champ joined the team at Wedgefield Country Club in February of 2023. He is a quarter-century PGA Member and has been involved in the game of golf since he was young. He learned the business of golf from some of the best in the industry. His career started in Phoenix, AZ and then San Diego, CA at private and semi-private/resort courses including; Phoenix Country Club, Camelback Country Club, The Boulders, Maderas Golf Club, and The Crosby National Golf Club. His passion for providing a world-class experience for all members, guests and staff is the foundation of his success.
He has operated all facets of the golf business and also owned and operated a junior golf program TGA of Charlotte, which helped introduce golf to over 6000 kids over the years. He also gave back and served on the board for the Southwest Section as President of the Assistants’ Association and Secretary and Vice President of the Southern California PGA section. Champ also coached the Providence Day girls golf team in Charlotte.
Champ enjoys playing with the members, connecting with all who enjoy the game and creating a golf course environment that you want to come back to and bring your friends. His wife, Jodi and their boys Drew, Toby and Shane look forward to meeting you at the course.
Michael Stewart has been in the golf industry since 2000 and a Golf Professional since 2002.
TGA was an after-school program catering to ages from 5 to 10 years of age. During my seven years with TGA, I expanded my availability by teaching at Tega Cay Golf Course where I provided private and group lessons for all levels and ages ranging from junior to adult golfers. During my time at Tega Cay I taught over 5000 hours of lessons, golf clinics and camps.
Amie Philo- PGA Professional
Amie joined Wedgefield Country Club in September 2019. She has been in the golf business her entire life having grown up the daughter of Lifetime PGA member David Philo.
Amie is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University as well as a member of the PGA of America. She began working at the Lake Placid Club in Lake Placid, NY., and her career in the industry continued at Maggie Valley Resort and Country Club in Asheville, NC, and then to Kingwood Country Club just outside of Houston, TX.
Amie moved back to the area early 2000 accepting a position at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and then at DeBordieu Club.
Throughout her career, Amie has been actively involved @ The Golf Center in Pawleys Island, her family's business for the past 30 years

Amie and her husband Richard Morris live in Pawleys Island. She is excited about what the future holds for Wedgefield and is grateful to be part of the family.
